Point Break Surf School

About the Centre

Come along and learn to surf at some of Sligo’s Best Surf Beaches. Included in these are Strandhill, Trawee and Streedagh. We are located in the sea side village of Strandhill, overlooked by Knocknarea home of the mythical grave of Queen Meave, and only 10 minutes from Sligo town. Strandhill can also be accessed by Strandhill airport with daily flights from Dublin and Manchester.

pbStrandhill is a small seaside village and is situated along the Atlantic Ocean in county Sligo on the North West coast of Ireland approximately 10km from Sligo City, it is ideally located for touring the north west scenic routes. It is one of Ireland's most beautiful and inspiring seaside towns, and is one of the best-known holiday centres in the North West. The crack and fun in the local restaurants and pubs is second to none. Why not come and enjoy a fun filled weekend in Strandhill Sligo, go surfing while your there getting some of the best waves in Ireland, and of course with the best surf instructors.

The new Point Break surf school offers a unique surfing experience for both beginner and intermediate surfers. We also run special group activity weekends for Corporate Groups or Stag & Hen parties. We can even organise special group events - e.g. an inter-office surf contest. If you can surf a bit already then why not try one of our lessons to improve your skills. These combine classroom theory and on-water practical surf tuition to help you progress.

Courses

If you are looking for small class size, quality coaching and the most suitable waves possible, we offer the best surf lessons available in Sligo using the most up to date training methods.

Our lessons allow for a maximum ratio of 1:8 student to instructor, as per the Irish Surfing Associations regulations, we generally keep our class sizes at a 1:6 ratio.

We reserve the right to cancel or cut short a lesson at any time, whether on grounds of safety or if our instructors feel that conditions are becoming a danger to our clients in any way.

Point Break Surf School is committed to teaching you how to surf and also feel safe in the ocean. We will show you how to recognise rip currents. When you are proficient enough to go on your own we will help with the choice of board and wet suit that is most suitable for you
